Still have kale, some brussels, perpetual spinach, winter lettuces in the greenhouse and we have 3 rows of potatoes to dig when the rain stops and the ground dries out a bit. Some spuds have regenerated with the mild conditions but will no doubt die off as soon as we get the 1st heavy frost

Today half a row of spuds, onions, radishes, parsley, tomatoes, cucumbers, french and runner beans, spinach and plums. That should keep us going for a few days. Enjoyed a lovely bean salad with wedges and a spinach and onion quiche tonight.

A few peas, broad beans, shallots and perpetual spinach but loads and loads of strawberries. We have probably had over 20Kg from our six rows already. Have made jam, dehydrated 2 jars full, 2 lots of strawberry wine started, strawberry muffins and have frozen 8 sliced packs for later use for crumble...

I took on a second plot in January and after the hard work of clearing it through winter its amazing how quickly you can fill-up two plots. More of everything especially spuds, tomatoes, butter-nut squashes and brassica this year. Even fewer trips to the supermarket!!!

Purchased an Excalibur 9 tray and so far have dehydrated pineapple, apple, banana, yacon, peppers, lemons and clementines. It's brilliant - thanks for all the advice.

Thanks for the responses, after some more research I think we will go for the Excalibur 9 tray model. Looks like dehydration options are endless, strawberries, soup mixes and sultanas are just some we are looking forward to trying.

How often do you use it, what have you dried and was it worth the expense as some seem quite expensive.

Nice raw in a salad, tried crisps but cut too thickly so going to try gain. Apparently also nice boiled in their skins and then opened-up and roasted but yet to try either of these yet.

Planted 8 yacon plants which produced 15 kg of tubers. Used 8 Kg of the crop to produce 375 grams of syrup. Tastes great but I am not sure the effort involved was worth it.

Cyprus are famous for their red soil coated spuds, so it isn't the area. Are you trying to grow varieties that just don't grow well in that environment? The easiest thing would be to find out what locals grow, rather than trying to bend conditions to grow what you're maybe more familiar with. Think...
