drought tolerant trees?
i know, not strictly vegetables! but, we have a problem here with eucalyptus (blue gum) plantations, and i am trying to find species of trees that could be a commercial pulp crop that people could plant instead of euca. needs to be fast growing, drought resistant, able to stand minus 7 degrees in ja...

and all humans are different too - some of us will presumably find soapnuts/saponins kinder on our skin, while others would find manmade detergents better. on the subject of soapnuts, i've just found a supplier of seeds for the trees, and will be trialling them next spring. perhaps in a few years we...

i think i have to go back to my childhood diseases comparison. measles in the UK is rarely dangerous. but in countries where malnutrition is part of life (mainly caused by iinequitable land ownership, and an emphasis on cash crops - but thats another debate!) it is often fatal. so, big pharma compan...

i wonder whether the disease is only a problem to animals whose immune systems are already overstretched - much the same as childhood diseases normally cause few side effects, except unpleasantness for the child concerned (when i was a kid my mother toof us to visit children with mumps and measles s...
