So if "beauty" shampoos strip bath enamel, what does it do to your scalp and hair?
Only you can tell us that by looking at the wife's hair.

Re: Seasonal clear outs

We should join up to cause trouble in the local community - some sorts of trouble can be quite productive in getting an out of the way place active.

Re: Seasonal clear outs

The shop looks very bare and lonely now so I need to decide what to do with it.The trouble is I'm getting the itch to make more now. Don't make just because the shop looks sad and lonely. Only make to order. Anything else will just reduce your NHS pension. You aren't likely to get a glut of c...

Re: The not buying new compact?

Grandson moved recently - long journey and new house didn't have as much in the way of furnishings as the previous one. There was a British Heart Foundation shop within walking distance and the parents with the removal van were still around. They moved a perfectly good four seater sofa to new house ...

Faith in Nature makes all its products in the UK using natural ingredients. It ticks so many boxes for me. You can also buy Suma own brand which ticks most of the same boxes if you want to shop online.

Re: Seasonal clear outs

One more item on the clear out front - something for the bran tub at the Chat Club Christmas party. Was totally out of ideas as it's supposed to be no more than a fiver. Hah - something that's not needed for the family presents pile as they have far too much in the bag and will do a treat.

Re: Seasonal clear outs

It's been a hard year I think for the small crafts folk. And the Christmas 2 day market up the road in Hexham has been cancelled today due to the forecast for high winds making it unsafe to put up the stalls before trading starts. One of allotment association is a young mother and has been selling o...

Seasonal clear outs

What has happened to the great seasonal clear out of unwanted toys? Usually at this time of year Freecycle, gum-tree and the charity shops have a backlog of toys that could help to fill up stockings and under the Christmas tree. Looking at Gumtree there are plenty of nearly new plastic trees that ha...

Re: Silly Season Self Sufficiency

Yep used to get very kind people wanting to put me on the list for the local Christmas lunch for the old, single, lonely but was quickly dropped when I explained I am vegan and allergic to alcohol - which made me feel better if nothing else  I'm just not good at getting into the seasonal sw...

Oh dear Ina that's not good being that unwell at any time of the year. A washing machine is always bad for the savings but a useful present.

Re: Silly Season Self Sufficiency

Hmm there's a grandson rather like you gal - his parents (daughter and husband) hired a van to move him from Thurso (north Scottish coast) to Reading for a new job couple of weeks back. His longstanding girlfriend moved in with him whilst still doing PhD in London. They had the essentials but only o...

Silly Season Self Sufficiency

I saw my first reduced from last year Christmas decorations in mid August. It set me thinking. I remember a couple who seceded from the day itself, took a large flask of hot soup and walked one of their local Cornish green ways at Christmas. I've a freezer with veg from the allotment in and still a ...

Re: No plastic

That is probably because the plastic bags are probably cheaper in bulk than paper ones which get left ripped where the customer is clumsy and uses another one.
