We usually put a Taken or Received message up. You can do it through the Freecycle message maker.

Re: Fruit trees
No probs FrozenT - good to know that for the future! The reason I say to really space things out is I am fed up with previous owners of the houses I've bought planting trees (fruit, nut or otherwise) too close together meaning we have to remove trees cos 10 years later they are growing into each ot...

Re: Where can I get wellies that fit ? !
For anyone near Wisbech, I saw Stormwell wellies with the buckle top for £13.99 in Eversons the other day. And if you're not in Wisbech, you might have an old fashioned "Are You Being Served" / camping shop near where you are. In which case, they might have them too. Off to investigate whe...

Re: what are you sowing?
So far carrots, parsnips, brocolli, cauliflower, beans, cucumbers and tomatoes. Just a few of each to start us off, then another load of the same in a couple of weeks. After that, all hell's let loose!

Re: Freecycle, give me a clue
I'm a local Freecycle group moderator and ours is a very lively group. We ask that people post an offer before they start posting wants and then that they stick to the rules. Namely no selling, no animals (unless they've gone through one of the pets4life groups first and one of our mods is a mod the...

Re: Creating a smallholding
It would depend on the local plan. Plus of course, if you start it off as a smallholding, you'll end up with an agricultural condition if you are able to get permission to build on agricultural land, which is not necessarily a problem if you're looking to run a smallholding but if you don't want to ...

Re: Just a question
 I use the doctor for diagnosis and the homoeopath, herbalist, clinical nutritionist or osteopath for a cure, unless it's definitely a doctor thing, like when I found out I had severe kidney problems that required surgery. No amount of arnica cream could have fixed that either ;) Dentist is ano...

Re: Greetings from the Fens!
Hi and welcome from further up the Fens in South Lincs. If your garden's truly tiny, have a think about growing things on different levels. It's amazing how much you can fit into a relatively small space if you plan it right.
Enjoy!

Re: A chicken question.
They also would have eaten snails in the wild. Snail shells are good calcium. Possibly bones as well, jungle fowl (the most primitive breed of chicken, as far as I know) have been known to eat small birds and rodents whole. Not just jungle fowl. My parents had a cockerel who used to be able to hare...

Ground chick peas, sesame oil and garlic. That's your lot. Mix until it's the consistency / taste you like.

Re: Quittin' Smoking
but it absolutely 100 per cent certainly is a HABIT as well!!! I would dispute that - it is pure and simple drug addiction and psychological dependency. I'm not so sure. When I used to smoke, I always kept my fags / tobacco on the shelf above the kettle. When I tried to give up using the patches (w...
