Tree Fern bargain from B & Q Garden section

Just wanted to share this, we visited B & Q today as they are giving 25% off all plants, and we are creating a brand new bed in our garden, so it was a great opportunity. But here is my bargain, I am so thrilled, they had a tree fern for sale and it was only £24.00 !!!! Granted not the biggest t...

Re: Toiletry Recipes

I have just posted a recipe on how to make lip balms, on my blog, so here is the very short version. Lip Balms are really easy to make and make great presents too, (thinking December) and actually work out far more cheaply, and you can also create to your own personal preference. Basic Ingredients: ...

Re: Shampoo that won't send my scalp into a flat spin

Just wanted to mention a pure natural mineral called Rhassoul Clay, it is used for replacing shampoo's and soaps, as it is fantastic for cleansing hair as well as your whole body. I am a complete convert for using it as a cleanser, I could write a whole book on it! You buy it in powdered form and mi...

Re: Making soap/toiletries

A good and natural fabric condtioner is this:

mix equal amounts of water with vinegar, and bicarb of soda, (it will fizz when you add the vinegar and soda) then simply pour into a bottle.

To use add roughly a quarter of a cupful to your wash.

Re: 101 chemical free ideas for the home

Citric Acid Descale your kettles, coffee machines, baby bottle warmers, sterilisers, I use 10g of citric (1 tablespoon more or less) to 200ml of water and leave for around 20mins. I prefer it to vinegar, as vinegar takes a while to work, but citric is fast reacting! Clean off water marks on shower d...

For pressies, you can wrap things in really nice fabrics, or re cycle packaging, my husband gets fed up with opening cupboards and drawers and finding boxes s...

Re: Making soap/toiletries

Hi I would definitly recommend to anybody to make their own soap as against the melt and pour, only because the 'real' soap is fabulous and is full of natural ingredients and chemical free! I made a 1 Kilo Loaf Soap of Goats Milk and Honey and it is fantastic, the softest and gentiliest soap full of...

Re: Making soap/toiletries

Hi, well making your own is certainly a lot of fun, I have been doing this for a number of years now and I am completely hooked. I just love being able to create my own creams which are fresh and full of only natural ingredients. You do need to be aware that making cosmetics for your friends and fam...
