Can't make my mind up whether to apply for it or not. Looks like a win-win situation but I can't believe there is no downside. My roof is just about perfect so it's just a case of deciding.

We have one near us but I have no idea when you should pick the nuts and how to prepare them. They look almost like naked conker shells if that makes sense? When do you pick them and how do you remove the skin?

Be aware that if you are in the UK it is illegal to hunt with Bow or Crossbow. It is also illegal to own or buy hunting tips for your arrows or bolts. We've been quoted over £3500 to install our log burner. It's a simple job - straight out the back of the stove, through the back wall of the house and up the side to near the ridge height. Thanks for the help. I think we've now settled on a broseley asia. Gives us the soapstone we want (aesthetics mostly) at a fairly sensible price. It's just the fitting price that's really going to hurt.
