I can only agree with everything you've said... Sigh.

Re: Where can I buy online alternative type shampoo's?

Hopefully they've improved since I last used one. I read excellent reviews of one of the bars from the store you mentioned above. The trouble is I get a sickly headache whenever I get within a few metres of the shop. I really wish they'd tone it down a notch or two. Glad I'm not the only one. I've ...

Thanks, Maggie - I shall bear that in mind! (I think I still have some apple cider vinegar in a glass bottle... )

Re: Where can I buy online alternative type shampoo's?

There's been a lot of talk about plastic-free shampoos - i.e. shampoo bars. Getting them is the problem! I have bought one in a health food shop - not tried it yet, some bottles to finish. I saw another one at a very high price somewhere; but most shops don't seem to stock any at all. I don't like b...

Re: Silly Season Self Sufficiency

Problem is - I'm almost tempted to accept that lunch. I'm used to being on my own; it's only now that I am unable to go to work or even just out for a coffee somewhere that I realise it's actually quite nice to talk to somebody apart from the GP and the nurse, and my friend who comes and gives me a ...

Re: Silly Season Self Sufficiency

Thank you, Flo and Maggie. Today I got an invite for a Christmas lunch at the church centre - lunch for lonely oldies etc... Doesn't exactly make me feel any better, only older, although it is of course nice of them to think of me - don't even know how they got my name!

Re: Silly Season Self Sufficiency

No TV here either, and no papers... I think I'll be missing Christmas altogether this year - I've spent most of the past 6 weeks in bed, being horribly weak, and since it doesn't look like I'm getting better (and the appointment with the specialist is in February) it looks like I'll be away from all...

I had most of mine raw - made some jam to give away. Anything involving sugar and/or pastry is out.

You don't need to use horrible Amazon for those toothbrushes - I've bought several in various shops.

My house tends to be full of plants - mostly seedlings - in spring and early summer.

Re: What are you growing right now?

Onions, onions, onions... Well, they are not growing any more, but they haven't been harvested yet. Courgette and patty pan are still going - I have a few runner beans that are not looking too happy with the weather... Shame. Radishes. Brambles. In a fit of optimism I've sown a few seeds under cover...
