Re: Bottling apples

I found this while lookking for advice on freezing apples, (which if anyone has some of I'd gladly take it) but I'm actually quite tempted by this method. can you still use the bottled apples for things like crumbles and pies and sponges? the ones we have been given I think are technically eaters bu...

Re: wooly weavy worky.

yeah I know you can just use those tiny things, I forget the name, I'm no use with 'technical' jargon (although I have trained my boyf to use most of the weaving terms to do with my loom as he has to help me roll on my warps, he takes great pride in telling his friends how many words he knows), that...

Re: wooly weavy worky.

I see what you mean, i think, I looked up 'student loom' on google to see what type you were talking about, it tooK me to my beloved fibrecrafts, I think I have a similar loom that I bought on ebay. if it is its good for mixing colours, and simple sampling, certainly will give you a feel for the cra...

Re: wooly weavy worky.

it took 4 years of college to get that far, and believe me there was a lot of crap came out first! I find weaving very relaxing, I like putting things in order and lining things up, I'm a bit anal really, so weaving suits me. good luck learning!

Re: Tweed fabric

tweed bags would be really nice for winter, and if you have a crafty sewy shop near you you might be able to get some really nice cane/wood handles to go with them? ooh and yummy purses too.

Re: Felting

have to say that washing up liquid would actually fine if you were felting with fleece by hand, I saw 3 years of college with that working, but I wouldn't chuck fairy in my machine. Its good to chuck a towel in with whatever you're felting to simulate the agitation your hands would provide otherwise...

Re: Tweed fabric

hi, I dont know if you'll have started this now, given how long ago you posted but i thought I'd reply anyway with the limited knowledge I have. I would assume that you dont preshrink it, as if it wasnt coated either as a yarn or as a material it could shrink by a considerable amount, you may lose t...

I actually also found that M&S's 'friendly' powder and delicates liquids were good too, I still use the liquid for my delicates.
