Re: What does your home smell of?

The flat smells of elderflowers after starting a batch of champagne using Andys recipe from the guardian. It also smells faintly of ginger and onion kimchi.

Re: bring back national service..........

As to benefits, these days they are paying kids £30 a week to attend 'college' (FE colleges). Some of mine went to actually getting me to college, which was in another county so not walkable. The rest went into savings for university, as did the money from my job. Meant I could leave without thousa...

Re: Where there is no doctor

It's not bad, there's a lot of them on the website including where women have no doctor, where there is no midwife and where there is no dentist. I guess a lot of it can be applied to the UK even if it was written for health workers in third world countries and they're really interesting and educati...

The thing I love about the snowflake is the very subtle skull motif in the middle!

Re: Christmas presents

I don't know. For a small child I don't think it's so much looking silly as what might be easier to carry or more practical. I've looked on google and I can't find much, but then I've only gone the first few pages. Its so geared towardssweing for little girls. Do a bag in a nice solid colour with di...

Re: Christmas presents

Bathstuff, that's a good one! Bath salts or body scrubs must be one of the easiest things to make. Bet bath bombs aren't that hard either. Still haven't got round to trying soaps!

Re: Christmas presents

I love the idea of turning your junk mail into cards! Things that went down well for me last year were; xmas chutney with lots of spices, dried fruits and booze in (I used home made elderberry vodka in mine), plum and mulled wine jam, blackberry and apple etc. Also, I did tiny kilner jars of homemad...
