I got lots of book tokens, so I've just finished "a streetcat named bob" by James Bowen and "the wolf within" Shaun Ellis. Both were 'couldn't put down' books. Waiting I've got "the witch of portobello" paulo coellho, (loved his other stuff), "state of wonder"...

Re: who's got the oldest singer sewing machine on here??
Oh my goodness- it looks like mine could be 1902. It's electronic though so I'm well surprised. I will have to recheck - I thinks it's like yvette's and 1930s sounds more like it. Missed part 1 but saw part 2 last night, thought it was great. I hope it inspires and helps people realise that woods benefit from being managed.

Re: What no wigglie worms ?
I've got NZ flat worms too and lots of earth worms - i dont nec think that you have no earthworms cos the flatworms have eaten them all but that the soil composition is a bit wonky. Having only recently made the discovery that I have flat worms i've been doing a fair bit of chatting to folks and som...

Rusty apple
I think I've got rust on 2 of my apple trees - it seems to have come in quick and fast, they are looking really sad. Any ideas what I should do? There's no fruit on them (again )

Re: Make a small worm farm
I made my own from scrap wood and left over polystyrene insulation. It's really just a large insulate box with wire on the bottom - heavier than chicken wire but that sort of thing. Stuck some horse poo in the bottom then layered it up with ordinary compost and a topping of leaf / grass type stuff. ...

I think it's great that you have a focus and a passion to dive. Why should you have to watch reality pish on tv. And why should you have to live on the street- we're supposed to help each other out and that's fab that your dad has bee in a position to help sort things out. I admire you for focussing...
