Re: The People's Supermarket
Surprised this thread isn't bigger, to be honest. I've caught onto it recently and I think it's a great show. Just a few things to rant about, in no particular order. It's worth pointing out that I'm a department leader of a well-known supermarket (not T***o, I do have some principles, thank you) an...

Re: 101 uses for cockroaches
The story goes that when I was born a cockroach skuttled out from under the bed, across the floor, only to swiftly be introduced to the pointy bit of the nurse's stiletto. Sufficed to say the hospital closed less than a year later!

Re: some people get my goat
That's rubbish. I guess they've been reading their Express/Mail which has been informing them that anyone under the age of 60 is a troublemaker.

Re: Update
I'll certainly let you know if anything comes to mind. I'm in the same boat really. I'm smart (not rocket scientist smart, but far from thick) but I have absolutely no self confidence. I've spent the last 10 years in retail, working for some big namesthat you will all have heard of. I've met some lo...

Re: Grey water
It's a condensing one, yes. I know, we are awful planet killing people but using a a clothes dryer wasn't really option in our last place as it was cold, dark and damp (it had an E or F energy efficiency rating) and no garden for a clothes line. Once spring and summer are here we'll use the clothes ...

I can turn into my father, albeit very gradually, over the course of my lifetime.
I can also do the work of three full time people for only one payslip, much to the delight of my employers and despair of myself.

Grey water
Hullo We've recently installed a water butt (a recent burfdee present - cheers Mum and Dad!) which is doing its job nicely. The other day we put the water from the tumble dryer in it. However I read today in the SSish Bible that grey water from a washing machine shouldn't be used for watering veg as...

Re: Update
Good to be back and see some friendly faces. Hopefully my posts on here will e more frequent once we settle proper. We've still got boxes that need unpacking, after three months since moving! The lounge and main bedroom are sorted and the kitchen bearable but the bedroom needs sorting rather urgentl...

Update
Hi all! Hope you're all well after what has been, let's be honest, a bloody awful winter. We've moved from our crummy, tiny, overpriced, rented, damp ridden rathole (bitter?! moi?!?) moved further into the Fens and into our very own house. I can honestly say I feel home for the first time in years. ...

BUMP!
Well, it's been AAAAGES since I was last here, but it's time for an update.
We move in this week. It needs a wee bit of paint here and there and everywhere and a new kitchen/bathroom, but we are SO happy and SO relieved right now!

They say a woman's work is never done. Which must be why they get paid less.

I love the Wombles' philosophy... You know, making good use of the things that we find.. things that the everyday folks leave behind.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZ2mJPSccvo Altogether now! I can remember an episode of Henry's Cat which had quite a profound effect on me as a child. He needed to ...
