I think i will give them a miss then :pale: I have the dvd and book for the cook on the wild side series, i'll have to have a look for the oakleaf wine. I know i have a couple of recipes for oakleaf so i may have to make a gallon of each :drunken: cheers

I know you can eat Hawthorn buds and as i have done i can tell you they are ok. The leaves too taste ok.

What you could do with is a book by CJJ Berry called First steps in Winemaking. i got my copy when i started making wine in 1984 (i was 15 at the time) .This book tells you everything you need to know, it really is a must have as far as books go. My gran got me onto making wine, she had about 20 gal...

This book is great, theres tons of home remedies for such as coughs, varicose veins, 'womens' pains, and many more. If you watched the program you will love the book.

I think i bashed it a bit hard, it split into pieces. yes i steeped it for about 50+ hours. The lemon i used was massive though, the biggest i have ever seen :?

ok, mine just tastes like a watered down lemon wine. Can't taste the ginger at all??? Any idea's why. I used fresh root ginger.

Well if anyone is interested and doesn't live too far then pm me and maybe a day foraging and learning off each other can be arranged. I have plenty of books that will help, just need a good place and pleasant company. :salute:
