Strawberry Wine on the go from the rather large number of strawberries the plot is producing right now.

Starsan is great - a little goes a long way - but only works as a sanitation/sterilisation agent. It will not clean like VWP or bleach does.

What, if anything are you doing to make sure you're getting true varietal seed? Assuming that is what you're after.

That is now an art to practice, pouring beer without disturbing the sediment in the bottom. It helps if you chill the bottles a little before pouring.

I found the first of the ripe strawberries when we were down the plot netting them off yesterday. Back home t'other half found a couple of ripe alpine strawberries :icon_smile: She also had a fertle around under one of the early potato plants and found a couple of new spuds that went into our dinner...

Also make sure you've degassed your wine or you'll get some of the CO2 that the yeast creates still in the liquid which comes out when you bottle up. This then causes the corks to push out a bit.
