hydro power or not??

How do I find out more about electricity generaton? we have a spring turning out up to at least 60 litres per min(measured) down to 10 litres (at a guess) with a possible 10 metre drop. But so far it looks if I call the experts they want a year and up to £3000 to tell me if its a goer!!! Any thought...

what sort of off grid you thinking? we have a stream we could use if we cuold afford to live cheeply!!! I've been looking at it and the only answer is to put money into one idea or another, money seems to be the answer. farmer gra

I think most animals will get used to a routine after a while. So if your tractor is visable from the field or in a position they can relate to, and are fed at the tractor every night I am sure they will come running!

Just to add I sometimes feel self suffiency is a myth, at the end of the rainbow etc. But doing what you can with the time you have to do things your self and be kind to the planet and others is all any of us can do. I've got a couple of pigs I would like to have out foraging but I need fencing and ...

As a family, we have been living the ‘good life’ in west Wales for 5 years now on 40 acres. Half of it is fields and the rest is deciduous woodland.
