Re: PSB- May I ask why?
Growing purple sprouting was one of my very few vegetable successes until this year, as the pigeons have found it :banghead: But more importantly it tastes great especially fresh from the garden, as with a lot of veg it starts to lose a lot of it's flavour once picked. I prefer it to that big green...

Re: PSB- May I ask why?
When I took on an extra bit of plot last year it had psb on it and not much else. I remember early in the season it was decimated by blackfly, but it flowered before Christmas! I've since eaten the lot, but my own look as though they might flower next month and yes, they are taking up room where I w...

Re: Polytunnel

I'll watch this with interest as I'm expecting a new one this week! It's 2m x 2m x 3m.
My allotment can get a bit breezy, so I've prepared six lengths of dexion to drive in the ground to attach it to!

Re: Recycled slide show!
Those are amazing! I particularly love the seat, planters and the wire cloches. I've got a few pallets knocking about - you've given me a few ideas. :thumbright: The allotments are particularly lucky in having an electrical company that give us more pallets than we can handle (a lot get used for st...

Re: Fresh pasta
I generally use Jamie Oliver's method; one medium egg to 100g of pasta flour. In a processor for a few seconds until it looks like breadcrumbs; test it by sticking your finger in, if its too dry add just a little water, too wet a little more flour! Knead it till it goes silky. Seven time through the...

Re: Lack of allotments or a lack of use of existing plots?
The chap who had my plot before me did nothing at all, his excuse was that he didn't have a spade and fork. Tools were offrered, but he had to be given his marching orders! With a waiting list, our allotment commitee is pretty keen to get rid of people who take a plot and do nothing. Some of the sit...

Re: "THE FIT-ISH CLUB"
I carry this pic in my wallet now! It took eighteen months from eighteen stone to just below thirteen. Mainly by avoiding saturated fats.:munky2: I once lost a lot through big C, (wouldn't reccomend it), then put loads on again as a backlash to chemo! That was over five years ago  http://i4...
