Re: Wells, water and Drainage
Hi all, Just a quick update on my Well situation, the water level has dropped down a bit now and I've been asking other plot holders around how their drainage is. It's a mixed bag really but the Water table level is about 6ft normally in the winter and around 15ft in the summer. The flooding to the ...

Wells, water and Drainage
Hey all, I've got an old disused Well on my Plot. Unfortunatley with all this rain we've had here in liverpool over the past 2 weeks it looks like the brickwork on the well has collapsed (I can't tell yet 'cos it's still full of water and has gone from being 4ft wide to about 10ft wide. (sighs!) I'v...

Re: A bit of advice needed....
Thanks for the advice guys. I've just got myself 3 Adazes from the http://www.get-digging.co.uk/ website. If you've not seen these tools before have a look they are really excellent (take a bit to get used to) but they are really great at ripping out those Bramble roots and Blindweed. I think they a...

Re: Best place to buy seeds from and what to grow first?
Hey guys thanks for all the replies. Realseeds is a great website. I like the idea of planting "Heritage" crops and harvesting your own seeds.
Thanks again for all the advice.

A bit of advice needed....
Hey guys, my plot has been cleared of all the brambles except for the roots (there are thousands of them), I'm just wondering about how to get rid of the roots really should I: 1. Dig all the roots out by hand clearing the plot. Then Double Digging the plot to improve the drainage. or 2. Double Dig ...

Best place to buy seeds from and what to grow first?
Hey guys, I've had a bit of a look for seed sellers on line but has anyone got any prefered sellers? Also with my plot still looking like a blank canvas what would be your recommendations to grow first (after I've built my 100ft fence that is!)? Be like the willow in the storm....flat on i...

Re: My Allotment
Just for info, W.A.G.A (Walton Allotment Garden Association) or Seeds Lane Allotments is the oldest Garden Association in the Liverpool area, over 108 years. The area the Allotment covered was two thirds bigger in the early years of the 20th Century. But due to council developments it has been drast...

My children are now 19, 16 and 3. The older two still call my Mum and Dad...Jellynana and Pop-Pop. I have no idea why and now the little fella is doing the same.
