uses for lime dessicant?
Hi,
I have bought a few packets of dried seaweed in a far east food store, they have a packet of Lime Dessicant in to stop it going moist.
What can I do with it? Can I use it in gardening or cleaning? I don't want to throw it away.

I meant light card, like cereal packets Ask if the local preschool/nursery/infants want it for crafts? I know they dont accept loo roll or kitchen roll tubes for hygiene reasons (may I just  cos its not harmed thousands of kids but now its no longer allowed grr). You could also cut up the pla...

That's weird - our institute has replaced IE with Firefox - but left IE on as well, as lots of things just don't work with Firefox! SSish for example... and hotmail. Security is supposed to be better with Firefox, so we are asked to use that as much as possible. Maybe it's just a problem with our i...

Re: cardboard?
I'm collecting the cardboard but not sure what to do with it. Is having a bonfire better than letting it go to landfill? Maybe I should experiment with composting it. The next council area does accept cardboard. Try freecycling it and advertise it as suitable for eBayers. New packaging is expensive...

Re: What do you recycle?
We are on 2 weekly collections here and have both a green and black bin, and black box. I tend to put grass cuttings, cardboard and rabbit hutch waste in the green. I confess I dont use the black box, I got stung once by putting a full box out and it being left as I had put something wrong in. I st...

Don't feed it - and especially don't give it milk . The time for feeding hedgehogs is in autumn if there are babies about who haven't put on enough weight to see them through the winter - in this case wet cat food is best (I mean of the tinned, not biscuit, variety). Other than that, enjoy ...

ice cube or frozen soup bags
I bought a roll of those plastic bags which you fill up with water or soup or juice to make little ice cubes, then I found they were too difficult for me to use as I have arthritis in my hands. The original container is gone but I have hardly used any, I think I got them at the Co-op, if anyone want...

Re: google tips
Google tips When using google I tend to put things into speech marks to narrow down the search. for example it you google andy and dave hamilton you get the mac observer as you top search. if you type "andy and dave hamilton " you get this site as your top search. Also I tend to narrow do...

They are called Pissenlit in French which literally translates as 'piss in bed'. parts of them have diuretic properties in herbal lore but it is either the root or the leaf, I think the leaf. You can buy a tincture of dandelion at most good herbalists. Or make it yourself obviously. The lea...

And if I turn off the computer at the mains, I run down the internal battery, but save the electricity for the little lights at the back (what are they for, anyway :? ?) That's a dilemma, now - what does actually save more? Couldn't the battery be a re-chargeable one that gets charged while the com...

Can you not shred them and use them for animals bedding? I used to shed all my envies for my bunnie rabbit. I tend to use my envies now for dinner money and stuff I send back to the school or to my mum in France. What a good idea about shredding them for bedding. I am a flat dweller without garden ...
