Re: Food allergies
Hi A while ago my daughter and I were both having some health problems and were getting nowhere with the doctor so went to see a homeopath (yes I know, it's just water.....) who also is a Bioresonance practitioner. Both my daughter and I were tested on his magic machine. Basically a strap is attache...

Re: When did you take your festive decorations down?
Hi
We put ours up about a week before Xmas and they came down 2nd January. We are not relegious but any excuse to eat cake is good for me! I told my little ones it was a celebration to cheer us up in the cold dark winter days and to celebrate the days getting longer.

Gravy
I have recently given up half a lifetime of vegetarianism and also decided to no longer use gravy granules (avoiding processed foods). So the question is how do you make decent gravy. Sometimes with a roast and sometimes without a joint.
Thanks

Re: cleaning a cheesy-smelling sheepskin
Hi My eldest son once emptied a cup of milk over the carpet on a hot day. I didn't find out till we got home after being out all day. Bleurgh :pukeright: It was an internal hall with no window. I scrubbed and cleaned to no avail. Then I bought some Neutrodol shake and vac type stuff, drowned the car...

Re: Antibiotics and probiotics
Hi all
Thanks for the replies.
Digger - I am totally clueless about kefir. I was dairy intolerant and at some point will find out if I still am so anything milky I have avoided. What is water kefir?

Antibiotics and probiotics
Hi all
I have just started a 28 day course of antibiotics. Does anyone know if it is best to wait until finishing them before starting probiotics or to use both at the same time?
Thanks

Re: Sewing machines
I have a brother machine that is a good few years old and still working perfectly. I have been told that Lidl do a good machine for around £65 but have not used one myself.

Re: Avocados
No. I don't really have space in the house for a tree! Maybe if you had a very large greenhouse or conservatory?Nonogon wrote: JuzaMum, do you think you'll ever get any avocados growing from them?
I would give it at least another month before you give up.

Re: Avocados
Hi Nonagon I have three growing on my window sill! The first took 2 months+ to grow, the 2nd nearer three. Didn't have any mould growing on them but they were a little slimy as I didn't clean them before growing. I used the same technique as you but with wooden toothpicks rather than needles. After ...

Maybe Monsanto could come up with a hybrid corn and TB vaccine? then we wouldn't need to shoot all the badgers!

Re: Greetings from Poole/Boournemouth, England
Hi E-P Welcome to Ish and hello from a neighbour. I live in Bournemouth with my husband and 4 children. I have been picking apples today (not from my garden though). I am going to make chutney (if I can find the recipe), apple and blackberry jam and apple and strawberry jam. Just had apple cake for ...

Hi Dave45
Is the apple juice good as juice. We don't drink cider (well middle son 17 probably does!) but get through lots of apple juice and have been offered free apples.
Do I just let the juice drip into the water it is above?

Hi Tree I use Olbas oil or Carvol on the side of the mattress at night for the little ones to help with their breathing. Echinacea drops are supposed to be good for boosting the immune system. Unfortunately getting colds is part of building up an immune system along with getting dirty, eating worms ...
