Re: What is happening to this lemon plant?

A friend of mine has the same problem with his. His opinion is that the last winter was too harsh and he didn't protect it well enough. Though it didn't look too good to me during last summer either!

Re: Excess of rhubarb

Maybe make some chutney from the crazy amounts of rhubarb some of you have. I had some the other day with belly of pork and it goes so well.

Re: What to do with plums?

You're so lucky, I love plums but i've not had a ripe lovely, sweet plum in so many years. I never buy them because they're so disappointing but I know there are good ones out there. If I were you I would just eat them ripe. But plum jam is also very good.

Re: Calling all Londoners

Shame you're not around Bristol. There an annual organic food fair in the city around August time I think you probably know about this already. Might be a bit too late in the year to get a spot. I'm guessing it's Bristol City Council you'd need to contact. There seems to be more and more of these ev...

Re: Open fireplace

Yes, old original fireplaces are beautiful and it's a shame not to use them. A friend of mine lives in an old apartment block in Berlin and her only source of heat it an old burner and it's so effective I couldn't believe the heat it kicked out. It looks very pretty too. Must be cheaper than having ...

Re: ...find an authentic pattern and material for re enactme

Sorry I can't be of help with the pattern but what about a cotton type of smock. Should be fairly easy to work out. Maybe take an old over sized shirt and adjust the measurements a bit. Sorry might be a rubbish suggestion.

Re: Find use for unused kitchen cabinet doors?

Yes I would use them in the garden some how if you're not bothered about them getting ruined. I've got so much that needs to be reused but it's also finding the time to revamp it.

You should all be very pleased. I've got some rocket on the go, a lot of it got scorched unfortunately so don't have many survivors. It's just so expensive to buy from shops.

Re: Essential oils

This sounds very interesting. I've always been interested in essential oils and aromatherapy I stopped visiting my gp a long time ago and always look into a herbal remedy for any illness. Thanks for the info on this.

I ate pak choi just recently. Unfortunately though I didn't grow it myself. I made a soy, ginger and honey dressing to go with it. It was really good

Re: Beer and slugs

My friend has all sorts growing in his garden, so he's in slug hunting mode at the moment. Every night he goes out with his torch protecting his garden. "Caught them at it again" he says when he comes back in.
