I joined to respond to a post by someone asking about a tanning product I wanted to try.
They didn't reply but I'd stumbled across the forum on many other occasions and just needed a prompt to sign up :)

Re: dairy goats/ uses for goats milk
Yes, I've bought some before from ASDA. Don't know how easy it is to make yourself, especially without a cream separater but I found this page: http://www.motherearthnews.com/Modern-Homesteading/1978-07-01/Yes-You-Can-Make-Goat-Butter-Without-a-Separator.aspx 'Strain one gallon of fresh milk into a ...

Re: Honey Contamination
Dear Rosendula, As we only warm our honeys through, the honey we pack into our bottles and jars is still raw honey . I am not convinced. Why haven't they told you the exact temperature they heat the honey to? Why don't they market their honey as raw? Why aren't raw foodists raving about this brand? ...

Re: Swap: hard work in return for accommodation

Hi Rob, Sounds like a great opportunity but a little above my skill level perhaps, unfortunately I don't have the managerial or commercial garden planning experience to be let loose on a farm bu...

Re: Swap: hard work in return for accommodation
Hi, I am new to this site. I just saw the ad for hard work in return for accommodation. If you have not found anything by now..... I live in a rambling Devon Longhouse which I am hoping to sell later this year in order to build an ecohouse. I need help putting this place in order ready for selling ...

Re: soap-free alternatives?
Aqueous cream? You must be joking? That stuff's full to the brim with toxic nastiness. Is it?! Okay, i will take note of some of the alternatives in this thread. Thank you. Doctor gave some to my frail old pap too, the main ingredient is paraffin :angryfire: Apparently straight coconut oil can be u...

Re: Plan Bee - Free wildflower seeds - OFFER ENDED
I got mine yesterday and told my friend about it, she was the one who found out the offer ended. I'm glad I was lucky, I missed all the free bee seeds last year.

Re: soap-free alternatives?
Aqueous cream? You must be joking? That stuff's full to the brim with toxic nastiness. I put a generous amount of rose petals (red is supposed to be best but I've found no difference) in the bottom of the pan. Pour in enough cool, boiled water to cover them. Place a bowl on top of them. Put the lid...

Re: soap-free alternatives?
I washed my face with olive oil two days ago and it made my skin so soft :) I also haven't felt the need to use anything other than water in the 4 days since. Rose water is really nice to use for freshening up, I found some for 70p in the local indian supermarket, I'd prefer witch hazel but it's a b...
