Hi,
could you share enthusiasm about some specific plants you are looking forward to pick for either tea or food in the coming months? I am looking for inspiration to maybe do the same here.
All the best,
Radu

What plant is it and what does it tell?
I have this plant growing in the garden everywhere but don't know it so don't know what it might be telling about the soil. Any ideas?

I also need to find my local elder tree here in Luxembourg! Thanks for the remind. Moving around you sometimes forget when things come to flower, fruit or whatnot..

Re: Beer and slugs
You must either have some really alcoholic slugs there or very dumb ones because here the two times I've tried it didn't work. Just some flies fell in.

Sowing the future
Now that I am getting ready to plant some more things in the garden I realise the following could potentially give a different perspective to others as well. It is related to saving money and resources in general something that interests me ever since I came across in a book that I don't remember th...

Earth mixture for seedlings
I've still to pay anything for my garden that I started from scratch getting some earth where the was none by adding cow shit amply available in the pasture next to the garden, food scraps dug into the soil along with tree branches from a close by wallnut, footpaths dug out and the earth added on th...

Re: Ban on natural remedies in the EU
MKG - for one "every plant with therapeutic indications will have to be with withdrawn from sale after the 30th of April 2011, all over Europe" but also as I was trying to convey through the different examples of this type of action, the main issue is that this type of regulation does not ...

Re: Ban on natural remedies in the EU
The main issue with this ban, and indeed is a ban, is that it's been applied before with the same effects that this intended to have as well. Legislation will favor those who have the money power and influence and won't affect those who can grow their own of course. But in between there are people w...

Ban on natural remedies in the EU
Even though this concerns only the EU for now be assured that this in turn will have an affect on the whole world if it get through since the EU has such a big influence over the policies of countries from Asia, Africa or the Middle East. Please take some time to see this movie and let your friends ...

Lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria)
In Romania I am pretty sure this is the plant that people go crazy for every spring but I've been reading that it's toxic and noone actuall picks here in Luxembourg. What is your take on it? Do you pick and eat it or no?

Re: Organic assault!!
You can buy lady bugs in South Carolina? And if so isn't it a bit of an impact on everything around to release so many of them at once even though the garden might benefit from them? Good luck with them anyway and hope they don't turn to be more of a curse than a blessing by some unseen or unforesee...

Re: It’s competition time!!! Win a copy of Dave’s new book
I arrived in Luxembourg almost 3 months ago and have to say that from all the places I've been living in, here is the place with the most incredible ammount of waste. While at first I was discouraged to see so many things being thrown out or kept in storages from beds to old, antique cabinets and an...
