Re: Any new marrow recipes?

Thanks for the tips, I like the idea of freezing it - I wasn't sure how it would come out in a soup, I thought it might go slimy, but I made some at the weekend and it's delish! Love lemon curd  am trying to lose weight though so prob not a good idea to be so tempting

Re: Is my chutney still safe?

I keep all my home made jam and chutney (that sounds like I have a lot, it is only about a dozen jars altogether) in the fridge - even the unopened stuff. Some is coming up for 4 years old and still fine

Re: Childhood food memories

My parents were VERY unadventurous when it came to food. My dad's speciality that I loved (at the time - late 1960s) was fish fingers with peas and mashed potato, and then he discovered Vesta Chow Mein - what a treat, but how did he stretch it to feed 3 of us :? Later on mum made spag bol which was ...

Re: Hello (again)

Hi Kate! I knit too, just starting to crochet. Just across the border from you in Derby. Hello neighbour! I have knitted for years, and tried lots of times to learn to crochet but could never get the hang of how to hold the hook, then at a knitting show in Perth (Scotland not Australia!) las...

Re: Use of space

This is my 4th year of growing veg and each year I learn more. This year I am not doing brassicas, they attracted too many slugs and butterflies. Can you imagine the look on my face when the brocoli I had cut up and washed started to come to the boil and all the little bugs floated to the top of the...

Re: Cardboard boxes / eBay

You were unlucky I think with your eBay experience, we have been selling for quite a few years (our feedback is over 4000) and the only time anyone has commented that I can recall is when we sent something out in a chocolate cake box and they jokingly asked why we hadn't sent them any cake :iconbigg...

Cardboard boxes / eBay

We kind of recycle for a living selling secondhand and some new old-stock car parts on eBay. It keeps old cars on the road and also stops the parts ending up in landfill. Nearly every item is posted in a used box i.e cornflake packet, fishfinger packet or boxes and jiffy bags from things we have had...
