When these allotments were sold orf, we were given the opportunity of moving to others and although several of us older people didn't take it up, most did, and for the better in a way because lovely light land, the sort you need not dig over until spring as you sow the seeds, so a big saving in effo...

Yes....do it all the time..in the greenhouse into a large pot filled with compost then onto main heap weekly. Double benefit saves water.

Does anyone know what happened to John Seymour, the author. The last I heard he was living in Wales with a self sufficiency group.
