Re: Angry mobs...

Baldowrie, I'm not sure why you appear to feel this is some sort of personal attack. If your child cannot be catered for within the education system for whatever reason then of course you should be entitled to home school him/her. But that's the point I am trying to make...being a home educator is ...

Re: Angry mobs...

Who is going to be looking after these children from 9 to 5 and during the school holidays is anyones guess if you cannot afford childcare as it's not a sufficient reason to not be in work appare...

Re: Angry mobs...

I am currently saving the government of Britain £24,000 a year by home educating my son. I am not single parent by choice but it better than getting a black eye! As for a doctors signing sick note on whim...pah More than their jobs worth! It's bit of paper that is practically meaning less to the wor...

Re: Angry mobs...

you would think so wouldn't you, but it's income support receivers they want. Yes there are some that shouldn't be getting and getting off their back sides, but they are too hard to chase! I am unable to work due to my disability and my sons disability and his inability, or is the school inability? ...

Re: Angry mobs...

One of the things regarding this that has come up is the single parents, and it's not just mothers, who home educated for various reasons including that they have disabled child/children will also be penalised under this new system. So even though our state education is not/unable to cope with child...

Re: NEW DOG HELP!!!!!

growingthings your dad was right on the money! My dog, a lab cross, wasn't bothered when we introduced a JRT but the JRT went for her, and she WILL defend herself. I basically grabbed the JRT shook with a firm NO and gave the other dog the look off disappointment (does it for her). All aggression st...

Re: Humph! It's not true!

Hello Stripy, i agree with what you say, but is your £82 fuel bill a average,or for the heavy quarter? Seems a bit steep, otherwise. It's £82 / month! We have no TV, we hardly put the heating on, we have energy efficient lights, we cook in bulk and re-heat, we wash clothes once a week... I mean ther...

Re: 2nd hand xmas

Last year I gave my children some money and took them to the charity shops for all my presents. This year my mother is 'helping' them buy stuff and it's all new. My son has loads of presents this year as most are off freecycle. My daughter expensive Monsoon clothes from that site for a fracti...

Re: Croup

The hospital will probably take blood gases and treat or not treat accordingly. She will more than likely be given antibiotics. The cough responds to a hot streamy room, so a bath full of hot water and the door shut, best to strip off, help make the cough more productive. If you can borrow a humidif...
