Re: Acne Management and Treatment?

I find bergamot essential oil really good for drying out and healing spots (recent discovery though I've been fighting them for almost 20 years now, grr). Just be careful if going out in the sun as it can make your skin more photo-sensitive, so more likely to burn. Smells amazing too!

I spotted them on the Flickr group just a couple of days ago, and spent rather a silly amount of time flicking between the two photos - "big sheep"... "little sheep!"

Re: permaculture veggie patch

I've just bought Martin Crawford's new book 'How to Grow Perennial Vegetables' - would definitely recommend this, it's not exhaustive, he does say he doesn't include everything, just those he thinks are worth growing, but it's a really decent list with good growing instructions. Lots of things in th...

Re: White Vinegar

I've bought vinegar in bulk from http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/ - paid £1.99 for 5 litres last time. They're also quite cheap for bicarb for cleaning etc. Not tried vinegar on weeds though, usually use hot salty water on ones on paths which seems to work fairly well.

Re: Garlic

I've grown both onions and garlic in containers - only problem I found was them sometimes getting a bit waterlogged so would just make sure the drainage is good. Ones done in pots were a bit small but a bath sounds ideal! :)

Re: Alcoholic Ginger Beer

This looks similar to the recipe in Darina Allen's 'Forgotten Skills' which I've made a few times, though from memory it tells you to put cold water into the sugar syrup, then add the jar contents, then strain, so you definitely don't kill the yeast. Has always turned out very fizzy (there's been th...

Hi all, I'm a member of Hazelhurst Community Supported Agriculture Co-operative, based on the outskirts of Sheffield, and we've got an information/ launch event coming up a week on Thursday. The CSA aims to help reconnect Sheffield communities with where their food comes from, by getting people invo...
