it was a little late but thank you any way i did find some wild cabbage and also some wild fennal i think thats what they were also caught some dog fish so not a bad trip.if you could recomend a good field guide i would be greatfull

what to forage for on the Kent coast
I am going down to Deal in Kent later on today and would like to have a go at foraging on the coast as i live in Nottingham i dont have much of a clue what to look for any suggestions would be very wellcome

thank you all once again you where right i do need a licence to take crayfish from a water even though i am not trapping them applied for one now so wont be a problem once it arrives

thank you both for your advice i have got in touch with the fisheries officer for the midlands regarding catching them without a trap i am still waiting for a return call on this matter as no one seems to know i will post there reply if it will be of any use to others

thank you for your reply i am only catching the american signal crayfish and there are no season for them i am based in nottingham and some of the lakes around here are alive with them

as soon as the weather improves i shall be going cray fishing and would like some recipes for them i want to use them for a first course at a wild food dinner party i am hosting soon most of my guests have never tried wild food before so i would like to impress them
