Re: What has happened to this website?

I think the problem is people are generally lazy. I find It far better to get all my 'news' through a twitter or FB feed just because I can get it all in one place. A facebook page would work if someone was dedicated to schedule updates throughout the day 4 or 5 updates a date to draw folk in. If a ...

Re: How do I stop cats using my garden as a toilet?

Dried bramble or rose canes laid over the beds worked a treat here. Deters the cats from naturally digging and cr*ping! second defence, super soaker. Btw my cat loving neighbours hate me but its either that or I fling the cat AND poop back over the fence ;)

Re: Dig my own clay

HAve you worked with clay before? Digging up your own would require a fair bit of manual labour and processing it thats why i've only ever done it once and even then I just made a simply air dried thumb pot and didnt fire it. It was a lazy weekend  After that It would be test! test! test! Only ...

Re: Not buying new in 2015

having the same problem here with charity shops although my local sells blurays for £3 and Ive found it quite lucrative to buy them all and then trade them in at those high street stores to pay for my media/gaming fix  (I use an app that you can scan the barcode on the disc to see how much ...

Re: How to read this soil test kit?

pretty easy to get hold of just make sure they are from a UK supplier - more accurate. theres videos available that show you how to do the soil test and other cool experiments you can do. esp things like how to neutralise acids/alkalis. ah I'm waffling.

Re: How to read this soil test kit?

just pick up a packet of litmus paper -make sure it does the full range of ph from 1-14 not the simple acid/alkali stuff- its cheaper and easier to use than soil testing kits. you can get them from lab supply places, photographic suppliers even that big web store that doesnt pay its tax :? . I had a...

Re: I need a kick up the...

Hehe I never see it as nagging. Yes a little pressure is good! I find fun in most things just need a kick to get going then I bite if people try to get me to stop ;)

I agree the photos help. I realised I hadn't blogged in ages so crashed my PC uploading all of them :D

Re: Have anybody else's courgette being growing wierdly

Any chance your seeds have been mislabeled? just a thought as they sound like a normal variety of courgette. grew some once :)

as for the ones dying off. I had that once. small fruits with flowers and they kept 'falling off'. someone said try hand pollinating. following year I had no issues.

agreed 100% that every part of the animal should be used but with the leather Im thinking from a vegan stand point. No animals will be harmed with the making of lab grown leather.

Re: How do we feel about artificial meat?

I listened to an interesting piece on radio 4. Not so much for artificial meat but towards leather. If we could create artificial leather for things like shoes which ive always believed are more sustainable than synthetic shoes you cant repair the soles on, surely that is a good thing?
