Allotment visit.
Confession time . Went to allotment . The first time since Christmas. I was surprised how it looked. Garlic and onions planted in the autumn are looking good as are the leeks. Got some parsnips and potatoes for Sunday dinner. Had a good look round to see what needs doing. Must be good and get into g...

Must make the effot although the coop is calling.
Home grown frosted parsnips . Yummy.
I think I will see if the sun comes out!

Not as well as previous years due to ill health.
Still got a large pumpkin, onions and potatoes. Parsnips still in ground.
Hopefully a better year next year.

Onion chutney
Realy enjoyed the carmalised onion chutney I made in the summer with my prize winning onion. Just wish I knew what went into it apart from the onions and the fruit left over from my summer fruit flavoured vinegar. It is really yummy and goes well with the local derbyshire cheeses from Bakewell farme...

I suppose H and S would stop traps being laid to catch them.
Treacle and feathers or paint that can't be removed.
It should make them stand out in the crowd.

I have always done things different .
It's nice to stand out from the crowd and be unconventional .
People always seem to remember me though.
At the minute into poetry events with hubby who writes poetry.

Re: Define your alternative self
Ha ha.. My hubby did that years ago when he was a cygnet in 'swan lake '. 3 large bearded , hairy men in pink tutus and boffer boots dancing round a dying swan. Never laughed so much in all my life and his mother nearly fell off her seat as she only went to see her grand daughter dancing . It was a ...

Re: Where do all the alternative people hang out?
Friday craft club seems to attract alternative type of people I like. Topics discussed are wide ranging and a lot of us are into self sustainability, recycling , art, festivals music , green issues , heathy natural healing and lifestyles. As well as growing our own food and sharing, occasional commu...

Garlic , mixed onions , leeks and lots of assorted brassicas and winter salads.

Re: Old dogs........
My electric machine is up the creek at the moment . Need to work out why the thread from the spool keeps snapping. Going to have a play with it on Monday using the manual and try to get it going. Otherwise it's back to using my good old manual singer. I must look up the registration number and see h...
