Silly Me!
I made some blackberry and elderberry wine at the end of August, i juiced the berries and added sugar, water and yeast and it came to around 20l in the bucket. I was going to transfer it into 3 or 4 demijohns to ferment out. Now the problem is i completely forgot about the wine and it's been in the ...

Re: Pressure Barrel
I'm actually going to prime the barrel with 80g of sugar and use the c02 when the pressure has dropped. The valve i bought has a pressure release valve so you can't over pressurise apparently.

Re: Begineers Beer recipe
Hi Andy, I have also been brewing all-in-one single can beer kits, however, i find them a little insipid and cidery even with spray malt and brewing sugar. My next move is going to be trying a "dry" kit once i purchase a pan large enough to use. Possibly something like this: http://www.ama...

Re: Borage flower wine
Thanks for the heads up, it was the possibility of it being blue that was appealing also. I will give it a miss. Do you have any other suggestions for Borage as it's there every year and it seems a shame not to use it!

Re: Wine/Beer Filter
I will have a look for one, didn't know how suitable it would be for beer though.

Mulled Apple Wine Recipe
I have some over sweet apple wine that will be good for making into mulled apple wine at Christmas. So could anyone suggest a recipe or should I just have a go at a recipe for mulled cider?
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Raisins
Hi Mike!
Thanks for this i well may give it a go, shame i didn't see it a couple of weeks ago as i will be buying sherry this christmas.
Is this wine drinkable as soon as its cleared? I imagine it gets better with age.
Thanks again.

Re: Sweetening cider before bottling
If you think fermentation over than don't add potassium sorbate or campden tablets unnecessarily . You didn't say what you were fermenting in but if possible rack into a second container and leave the cider to clear under airlock, in a garage/shed it should only take a couple of weeks this weather. ...

Did you add sugar or was it just the fruit?
