Re: Successful alcoholic elderflower champagne recipe
Hi. Yep I just use standard 1 litre fizzy pop bottles that I saved, (like schweppes bottles). Just let the gas out until its a decent champagne like fizz and chill outside or in a fridge to totally stop the fermentation if it hasn't already. The Lalvin yeast is pretty resistant stuff. Two bottles ne...

Re: Fermentation stopped
Ok got this going on another thread, but just to sum up, it was the yeast. Wasn't strong enough. Cleared the brew and re started with Lalvin Champagne yeast and nutrients. All good now and got a great result. Recipe here http://www.selfsufficientish.com/forum/ ... 19&t=28147

Successful alcoholic elderflower champagne recipe
So my latest batch of elderflower champ has been a total success, although I must say it required a lot of babysitting along the way... (But what brew doesn't?) Both yeast and nutrients added as instructed for 5 gal. What do you think? It's been around 27cent in my flat. M...

Re: Elderflower Champagne - getting it fizzy
Ok thanks guys. I've got a 5L bin with airlock, and using champagne yeast. It's going to be about 8% when it's done. 3 days of fast bubbling, now slowed down quite a lot. its still quite sweet so wandering if the yeast is dying off. might just be me being paranoid. It's around 27 centigrade in my fl...

Elderflower Champagne - getting it fizzy
Hi all. Ive made EC a few times but never managed to get bang on. Although I'm not following andys recipe I'd still like to ask a question here. Basically I'm doing a 5 gallon brew and have used a yeast culture with the idea of making it fizzy in the bottle. Do I rack before fermentation has complet...
