Re: Sharpe's Express

I'm trying to grow them without earthing up. So far I've only had black weed suppressing fabric over them held up a bit with canes, like a tent. Does anyone else grow potatoes without earthing up? I've also been digging up a few rogue potato plants growing from last year's and they're covered with w...

Estate agencies

Why is it that when someone gives a budget to an estate agent, they always seem to show properties above that price? Has it become the case that when asked for their budget, the buyers now give a lower number, anticipating the higher price response from the agent?

Re: Make my own pasta?

It's easy enough to make, a bit of time is needed for the process though. You'll be used to kneading already, or if you've got a bread machine, can you knead pasta dough in it? We've seen a rise in pound shop places in recent years, will we soon be seeing a rise in popularity of the shops that sell ...

If you try to save on eggs and use a recipe using water, it's just a dough, which is alright but might not pass through the pasta machine properly, assuming you're using one. If you haven't got a pasta machine yet, make simple pasta ribbons and sheets by rolling a...

Re: White Vinegar

Would brown vinegar cause problems in the wash. Morrisons have a non-specific brown vinegar for 21p/568ml and T***o have a 568ml bottle of white distilled vinegar for 39p.

Re: Laptop batteries

I've been collecting ordinary used batteries for a couple of years in a specially-provide bag. When I had a look to see how it was filling up I could see that some of them had become coated in something, will they still be useful for recycling, I don't use batteries a lot so I wasn't keeping a frequ...

Re: Laundry detergents

I put some things there weren't really dirty in the wash recently without detergent and on a high temperature with a few drops of essential oil for the rinse and on extra spin and they came out perfectly clean. I wouldn't do it with items that need proper washing, but it's worth considering occasion...
