Re: Carbon Off set

We wouldn't supply the trees, all we would do is plant supplied trees in the field, and of course take care of them etc. So its sort of Carbon off setting on the cheap. People off set their Carbon consumption, we get a 2 - 3 acre woodland, and whoever supplies the trees gets some cash. I know there ...

Re: Carbon Off set

Hello mamos Well we havn't really thought this through, but one idea we had was this: Someone decides they want to plant a tree. We let them know what trees we can plant (the site varies from being wet, and straddling a stream to open hill side) in the different parts of the field. So it could be Oa...

Carbon Off set

Hello all We have about 2 - 3 acres of land that we are interested in using for Carbon off setting. We've looked at the woodland trust website, but they seem only to be interested in charging people lots of money to plant trees on woodland trust land, in return for a managed site. We want to do the ...

Building a Barn...er..shed!

Hello everyone I am planning on building a shed cum barn on a piece of my land. I am going to use a number of old telegraph poles as up rights, and a corrugated tin roof on the top. The sides will be timber, as will the doors. All re-cycled, except for the nails, screws and hinges. Anyone got any ex...

Council !!!!!

Hello everyone, We have run into a problem with our sheep, and could do with some advice..... This maybe more of a planning issue, but I thought I would post this here, as it may well effect others. Sheep and Registration

Hello everyone Well since my last post, we've gotten ourselves 15 chickens (and a cockeral called "le Grande Zizi" or Zizi for short, who is neurotic) 8 ducks, a 45 foot polytunnel, a small tractor and now, 4 sheep. Thing is we got the sheep to cut the grass in our fields as we plan on rotati...

Our Springer had a half blind, little white duck for lunch today, and our little boy (who is 2 and a bit) is going to miss his favorite duck! We already have 10 chickens, and 4 other Ducks...so a good home for a new arrival. We are...

We made a fence out of stock fencing, nailed to some half round and round posts. This was stretched like n...

Thanks. The only thing is...... I have to work to pay for the restoration of the place, and the other half is in charge of 14month toddler. I can't always be home during the week (work) so its left to the other half to look after any animals we may have. So we're really looking for the easy option h...

Grass Cutting Sheep Needed....?

Hi We have a field which is about 3 - 4 acres in size. We want to put a few sheep on the field to keep the grass down. The local farmer has offered to put some sheep on it, but we are reluctant to let him do this as, well frankly we don't trust him. So our other option is to put our own sheep on it....
