If you leave them go to seed you should be ok, but herbs grwo quickly enough from seeds at the best of time.

We have a small cirus grove from pips - We don't think any will fruit but we kept popping Mandarin and lemon ppipcs into compost in a warm enviroment (on our storage heaters) until we got seedlings.

Try coming at it a differnt way - most of these things save the company money (Not having Air Con on etc). If you can get managemnt on board that way it sometimes works - espcieally if you could get them to agree to put some of the money saved towards Christmas parties etc.
