Note: Try not to hurl when gutting the hare after it has sat for a week!LOL

I also planted Pukekohe Long Keepers last year and got a mighty good crop. Down here I sow the seed in trays in early April (mid autumn) and let them grow and over-winter. Soak some tobacco leaves in water for a week or so and spray on vege plants, just not to close to harvesting otherwise your lettuces could give you lung cancer :lol: :roll: .

Generally you lay out your potatoes to chit about 6 weeks before planting.
Don't do it any earlier otherwise the shoots get too long and the potato shrivels up.
