Some lovely ideas here - I'll nick them for my tree too! If you have any wool hanging around, you can crochet your own tinsel. Works best with the glittery, feathery wool that you can get cheap in Wilkos or pound shops. Really easy and lasts much longer than normal tinsel :)

Sadly it seems to be quite common to spend that much. On another (mummy) forum that I frequent the amount to spend on Xmas was a topic. The figures were similar. I was shocked!

My mum lives in Calgary, Canada is it's also forbidden to hang out your washing there. She doesn't take any notice of that and goes ahead and hangs it out anyway (at least in the summer - in the winter it's usually -30 so not really good drying weather!)

Helsbells I completely agree with you. However, as a currently BFing mum myself, I don't feel comfortable with other people seeing my breasts.
