A project I want to do with my own kids... I plan to use some junk (an old bicycle wheel, some sort of pole and some yoghurt pots etc) to make a sort of windmill for my allotment. I want the windmill to make noise and move things to scare the birds off my seeds  I reckon it could be an ongoing ...

Hi possum! so far, I have only lost one bird, (to a fox) and she was a bantam frizzle. But I understand that the majority of hybrids are not very long lived...being bred to produce eggs every day at the expense of longevity. Sadly, battery hens are usually culled after one year for this reason. Howe...

Our eglu (bright pink) takes just moments to clean, makes it so easy for people to 'chicken sit' while we're away and looks so funky I just love it. On the omlet site there is a thread for vis...

I don't pretend to know how or why these diseases keep emerging...foot and mouth, bse, bird flu....

but I feel certain that while animals are reared intensively and transported live across whole continents, dead across the whole world.....things can only get worse

I did feel sorry for them, and was willing to help, but i'm not now. If i was anything to do with the insurance assessors, i'd be turning down the claims due to wilful damage od property. . Good God! these poor people have been thru so much! I would imagine that they are shocked and dazed, utterly ...

two thoughts..... one is that eating the placenta supposedly replaces much of the goodness given to the baby during pregnancy and is rumoured to prevent a range of post partum disorders ranging from iron deficiency to hormone induced psychosis (a rare but devastating condition ) Very often in nature...
