If you want really strong plants, pot them up a bit deeper than they were to start with - they'll put up with being nearly buried! The buried stem sprouts new roots, just like a potato plant.

The amount of times I have to walk backwards and forwards with watering cans makes it very handy to not have to hang around waiting for a watering can to fill. Hi MMM! Um... get a second can. just like one of those catflaps that won't let a cat in without a magnetic collar.
except this one lets them all in, but if they don't have the collar a guillotine blade cuts them in half. The prototype's working pretty well but I haven't solved the mess issue yet

The same - although instead of sulphur my grandad used wood ash. Works well enough if you've got some, but I'm not sure how necessary it is.
