We have had black rock pullets which have come into lay in december, and after a few weeks went to laying almost an egg each every day. Thats without artificial lighting. black rocks are brilliant!

Does anyone know of anyone selling soay sheep in britain? We were going to buy some, but it fell through and now we are looking again. I would accept sheep from anywhere, although scotland would be best.

When I asked the vet, he didnt seem worried. He just suggested that I wash the bald bits in baby shampoo and leave it to see what happens. I would let them out now. There is no need to wait untill they are laying - we let ours out over a month before they started laying. If they have been there more than a week, and take themselves to bed at night even while they are in the run, they should know by now that it is home. I would be surpr...

I would leave her for a while and see how she goes. she is probably very stressed out and a bit bruised and sore. If she is not showing any improvement by tommorow, I would take her to the vet. Most likely all she needs is a bit of love and plenty of rest. :-)

If you keep giving her everything the vet says, that might get her strength up a bit and that alone could help her start eating. with many animals, if they get a bit ill and off their food they get too weak and dehydrated to want to start again, so I think you're doing the right ...

what! two per acre! the grass will be up to their necks in weeks! 4-6 goats will be happy on only around one to one and a half acres. I dont have goats but I know some one who does and their goats dont actually eat much grass - they prefer hay and branches.
