Just got back on the bike from a forage, 2 bags of cooking apples (they falling off and picking off easy) will keep all winter. Thought it early, hope they keep. Also some loverly blackberries, the small tight sort, not so sweet as others. ALSO some corn fell off a lorry, a pile of it on the verge, ...

Loads of apples and blackberries, best year ever here in Norfolk.
But..weep...no sloes.
Own garden Laxton Fortune thousands on one tree. Plums fairly good Victoria but intermittent ripening.

No local link, and Googling brings up the expensive bagged stuff.
Landscape gardeners must get it from somewhere, the same place where they get fancy gravel and pavers.

Gravel merchants often have a 'soil' section. For instance, my local man here in Norfolk sells Breckland light, sounds like a beer.

Hear what you say, Sao....not unlike the conditional love of a mother for the child, BUT later on doesn't the father step in, for discipline and work ethic. so are you implying that Fathers don't give unconditional love?? and that the Mother is the only Parent capable of this? Yes..Lav your granddad was right....find at age 72 need less, just the basics and a bit of heat.
Actually giving up things because can't be bothered with the sorting of it.
Like freezers and vhs and dvd players recorders whatever.

Hi Ginny....I have a ton of dried runner bean seed, and soak them overnight, and add to stews and casseroles in the slow cooker. The white ones look best made into paste, and can be frozen. Protein rich and so versatile. "Diet for a Small Planet" by Frances Moore Lappe is well worth gettin...

Blimey John some info there....this batch thing seems versatile enough, I like the system where the tank is the collector too. Seen them in Greece where the tank sits atop a collector but yours is an improvement. Might try and do without the pot in my 'copper system' try for the water to heat up dir...
