tzatziki...hadn't thought of that. Don't like Gin, but maybe vodka???? Very easy to grow, did it in the greenhouse and looked very weedy but have had loads of fruits and there are lots more coming. The instructions say that they grow outdoors and prefer arid conditions, maybe they flourished when we ...

Has anyone else tried them? wondered about stir frying them also. Wish our grandson lived near, he woul...

Hi there. We live very close to you but as I am currently abroad cannot think where to suggest except alongside the railway line footpath which runs from Minnis bay to Reculver, I am sure I have seen some along there. Did not want you to have no answers....I will speak to OH in next week or so cos h...

I was wondering that too. Have done it twice now and seems fairly simple as long as you take care about inflammable surfaces being well away from the flue!

Re: Woodburner in conservatory
Hi JJ We fitted our own in the barn and spare room in Portugal. VERY simple if you dont mind knocking a hole through an outside wall. Have to ensure that the pipe is well away from anything flammable but it really was simple. Made a base of stone slabs. and bought the flues with the stoves. One is a...

Black salsify ...advice anyone?
Help! We were in france and bought a packet of what my OH fondly thought were black runner beans (he should have had his reading glasses on!) Now home he has opened the packet and we have belatedly translated the name of the plants...turns out to be black salsify. Has anyone any tips on growing / co...

Re: Suntan oil
I remember in the 70's when we used to put on vinegar and corn oil and sit in the sun! Smelt like fish and chips and must have literally fried our skin! Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Re: Want the dream!!!
Hi Tree Agree with everything earlier posters have said, not to put you off but you are more likely to achieve the dream if you are realistic! If the landshare site has nothing in your area, how about getting the use of more land...have you any elderly neighbours who would be willing to let you shar...
