Re: Fishing Floats Made From Seagull Feathers

Very professional!

I remember making them out of drinking straws years ago.

Good luck with them.

really wish I was close enough to the sea to go fishing. There are plenty of gravel pits near me where I could go, but coarse anglers get narky if you take fish for eating :( . You can always fish for pike and eels which are good eating from rivers. Coarse anglers don't like them in the swim. I sto...

I've got a clump in the garden that was given to me, but you can buy plants from Wiggly wigglers I believe.
A clump! I think we've got an entire garden full and it's expanding!

Do you eat the bulbs or just leaves?

I am also a loose tea in the pot person, but have a metal infuser to stick in the cup if I am making it just for me (Whittards again). The world has gone mad. :( I find the metal tea ball very ...

Probably Garden Pearl cherry tomatoes. Have had no problems indoors or out, although they are all in containers, and have had huge yields.

Re: dumped

sunday channel 4, reality show with a difference, by the look of it - people dumped on a dump and have to build a community out of stuff people chuck away! Might be interesting... I didn't watch it and have no intention of watching as it trivialises the plight of people who really do live like this...

dumped

I saw this TV programme advertised last night. Didn't watch it so perhaps I am spouting incorrectly. I had better things to do. The news is not there to be informative. The news is a light hearted magazine style show/website/buletin. :( I agree. I think the media has become "dumbed down." A few of us were discussing this some time ago and we felt that there were fewer intelligent documentary-type programmes. There...

potatoes and turnips

This might sound a little naive. :? I had some excellent pentland javelin potatoes (first earlies apparently) and had them out of the ground by the end of June. Following the attrocious weather we had I was then left with bare earth on one of the vegetable beds. I put turnips in in sequential sowing...

I think everyone including the farmers are having a bad year.

Hopefully things will improve.

Next year your produce may do better and maybe you'll laugh about this.
