give upside-down tomatoes a chance

I would give it a go. Mine did pretty well last year. They produced as well as the others... an important thing was pot size. I found that it didn't matter which way up I grew them, they needed a big pot. In the end I would say this is the most important factor for containers. They were also on a 9t...

We bought a large bag of onions that was the price of about 4 onions, so naturally we had too many. There were three that really started growing, so we put them in a bowl with some water in the windowsill and let them carry on growing us green shoots to add to salads/soups. Not a bad deal really.

I pulled a few stems immediately ...We had rhubarb crumble before I had ever put spade to earth. I have to say this was my experience as well. When I got my allotment last fall there was ...

there's two more natural remedies i've heard of working... olive oil (the cheapest type is said to work best) or mayonaise. (Not vasline or petroleum jelly, as it is flammable!) the idea is to sufficate them as lice breathe though their sides. you could probably google it. at very least using condit...

I'm relatively new to growing things, but here are some thoughts... I am growing 'Tropita' leeks here in Sweden, so they do well in the cold. They grow to supermarket size or bigger and have been quite hardy during an extra hot summer. When I want to grow garlic I go to the supermarket and buy a bun...

I also wanted to try growing chives... I planted the seeds the 16th and 24th of March. They're still not very big but are just getting to the edible stage.

Who knew?

Flowers - if a plant gets this far you can leave it be and wait for seeds to form, then dry them for next year! So wait until all the white flowers have dieds and save them? I have a few plants that went to seed while I was away and I'd like to save the seed. Thanks! And brazil nuts in pesto sound ...

I wasn't familiar with Weedol as we don't have it here in Sweden, but I looked it up on the maker's homepage here: http://www.scottsukonline.com/products/weedcontrol/weedol.html (the company that makes Miracle Gro) It definitely doesn't seem organic and even says: Always read the label. Use pesticid...

(I was unfortunate enough to witness this firsthand while riding in a car) I was pretty grossed out at the time but the wine there is amazing and everything else we ate that week was amazingly fresh and ...
