Hey tea690, My heart goes out to your wee boy. My daughter occasionally suffers from contispation and it can be very distressing. We have found Weetabix has been helpful for getting things moving and like the last post I have found peeling apples a good one. I have even grated the apples! One other ...

Easter eggs

I can't believe Easter Eggs are in the shops!!! Before Christmas as well!! For most people, shopping has become a religion and it is getting out of hand. Maybe with the recession looming it might start to change. I agree that it is almost futile to try and change the corporations way of think...

Watched the first two series on DVD for the first time two years ago and was hooked. I think it was pretty ground breaking for the 1970s, having two female lead roles. I did think the series 2 got a bit bogged down with certain areas and characters though. What is the third series like? Can't wait f...

I have been watching Hugh's programmes and have found them interesting . It is admiral that he has taken on the challenge of informing and getting people to think of where their food comes from. It was good to see the group of people enjoying raising the chickens well and eating them. I think a lot ...

Has anyone had a "period party" to celebrate their daughter starting their periods? I have heard some people having them. My daughters are a few years away from puberty but I think it would be nice; or do you think it would seriously harm them? I was talking with my sister who thought the ...

walking with kids

I agree that it is really difficult to walk to school when you have no alternative (got go to work straight after, no safe route and you have to use the car etc.). I just find it amazing that in one generation things have changed so much. Without having the exposure to some walking I think our child...

Worming Goats

Eprinex and Ivomec are very similar chemicals, the difference is that the Eprinex has a zero milk withdrawal time for dairy cows, Ivomec has a longer milk and meat withdrawal time. So either can be used in goats subject to the required withdrawal times. Generally my husband who is a livestock/equine...

Walking with kids

Has anyone else ditched the car and walked the kids to school, the shops or their clubs? I have been doing this for the last three years; my kids walk about 2-3 miles a day and all the better for it. A few other parents have started to do this too, but I'm finding the roads are still getting a lot b...
