Too acid? Try adding a few Tblspn of (boiled to sterilize) grit that that you would give to chickens - neutralizes some acid with little impact on taste.

I used to make my own washing powder but T*sc* seem to have stopped selling soap flakes and grating bars of soap isn't much fun , so that's on hold for a while. Having said that I don't think it'll be long before the grater comes out - I can't find a washing powder with a smell that like. Food proc...

Haven't been around for a while, sorry gang! I'll try to stop by a bit more often now, gotta get back into the garden soon too. Have had flu like i haven't had in 10 years, and it has been flipping cold so i have been lacking some motivation to do anything other than brew and distill recently.

Dowsings a good way to go. I'm about 80% accurate and one of my lil bro's is scary perfect. No family history, heard of it, had a go and we nailed it first time! Coathanger L rods all the way

The only thing (to my knowledge) that can go wrong with vinegar is that it will break down to (essential) water over time if exposed to the air and the right micro-organisms.

Iron/steel is not so great to melt aluminum in - it has a negative effect (but not catastrophic) on the quality of the casting.
You might want to look into lost wax casting and 'greensand' casting.

just put on 2 galons of carrot whisky looking forward to trying this one hehe brup Is that my one from the ish brew book? if so watch out; it uses stepped fermentation (adding sugar bit by bit) and is high octane! It really does benefit from 6-12 months aging once it is done though; helps the ginge...
