Re: 'Pears for your heirs'

Friends of mine who have a pear tree have borrowed netting this year

Apparently the squirrels take the lot most years

I would film the tree and see if the pears are being nicked by the wildlife before they ripen

Re: have weed killed, what next?

Ive done this on my plot

The idea now is to dig and make beds and dig in some manure and compost and weed them often to get rid of any stragglers

The earth will recover Glyphosate breaks down nicely

Just make sure that the plants you put in dont die

Put the dead stuff on your compost heap

Re: does anybody have any grape vine seeds that they wanna swap

Just bought a Marechal Foch Grapevine from Morrisons... They were 12.99 each, Am toying with the idea of putting it at the allotment The small grape size means that the birds like them so will have to net, Was wondering if they could be grown in a pot but think that it would have to be a very large ...

Re: Price of free range eggs

The price of goods are exactly the same, but prices are inflationary, The only variable is that now the minimum wage is less than your old labourers... The same amount of silver that you would need to buy a decent hand made suit is no different now than it was 100 years ago I get free range but not ...
