I agree with the good lady above! :mrgreen: A tenacious terrier or a good ratter-cat. Sometimes the local Cat Rescues have some ex-farm-cat-types that are ideal for smallholdings. My mate who has a tree nursery recently homed a couple of cats from the Cats Protection people and they're doing a grand...

I was walking on the moors up in Nidderdale a few weeks ago and came across some odd-looking things that looked like animal traps. They were wired to the top of drystone walls. We've got a community composting scheme here in Leeds. They take green 'waste' from local people and compost it. They have a collection service. And they take green 'waste' from commercial sources (i.e. gardeners) and charge to dispose of it (by composting instead of landfill). I'd love to see this ...

The Smallholder magazine often has quite a few ads regarding smallholdings for sale. (Most of them seem to be in Wales and the Welsh borders, for some reason :? ).
