Re: Lemon cucumbers
Wel done you for getting such a good harvest. I have tried two years on the run and failed dismally. They start off great, really healthy and strong and then the main stalk seems to rot half way up and they die. Any advice gratefully received as although I said I wouldnt try them again, I am sure co...

Re: Sinusitis
Hello, not been around for quite some time, but I do still try and make time to read even if I dont post. I have suffered with acute sinusitis for over a year. Some of you may remember all the dental and jaw problems I had before finally having an operation. Previous to the op one side of my face we...

Re: PATCHWORK
I started my first patxhwork quilt at the age of 14......... I eventually finished it about 4 years later!!! But it looked great and is still in circulation today and I am 44! I found it very therapautic. I found that I kept a few different pieces on the go at once, so that when I ran out of a parti...

Re: Bartering
This bartering malarky is THE BEST!!! I was considering starting up a chutney and pickle buisiness, but as I work full time and can only make so much stuff, I am at the moment using it to barter and it is working really well. So far I "swap" my products for; other veggies that people have ...

Re: Any ideas for preserves please? Especially tomatoes
I have a good recipe for tomato ketchup if the kids like it and you are able to get hold of some red wine vinegar. I think that you have the rest of the stuff needed in your store cupboard.

Re: Growing Garlic
I dug the garlic I planted last winter up today. They are small but well formed. A few of them though have developed small amounts of cloves about 6 inches up the stalk. I was wondering, if I dry these out, can I use them to plant out this autumn?

Re: The case of the missing cherries...
I had that problem last year, one minute a tree full of beautiful cherries, next time I looked, there wasnt one to be found! I thought that maybe it was birds, but surely there would have been evidence on the ground? This year my cherry tree is poorly again with black aphids and I didnt notice until...

Re: Neighbours grrrrrrrrrrr
I cant believe that Stripey! It sounds like they are worse than the neighbours from hell! Is the housing Association not doing anything to help you get rid of them , or at the very least stopping them from being so antisocial? I am not surprised that both you and your other half are becoming ill.......
