Forum: But what can I do?

it's an incredibly complex area - basically, when you first switch on something electrical there's a "current surge" - because the device isn't at operating temperature, "cold" it will momentarily draw more current than when it's up and running, because the electrical resistance ...

I'm amazed at some of the really low predictions..........heating oil for instance in the last 18 months has gone up by 92%......... It's easy to under-estimate by looking at motor fuel costs because a large component of the price is tax, but something like heating oil shows the "real&q...

thought for the day - about the long-suffering lab rat - the odds of the poor misused lab rat giving the same results as a human being in drug tests are about 40%
- therefore it is more accurate to let the lab rats go, and spin a coin - you'd be 10% more accurate!

ho hum, lets go for it! Science is bunk, and relying upon it as a sane way of making decisions is as illogical as spinning a coin............... Put into the context of history, "science" continually develops, and "changes its mind"- continually! (I have referred to thi...

If you are determined to go the fleabay route, use Paypal (yuch), at least you're "covered", not Western Union or cheque........then accept the fact that these 200w turbines are NOT just "bolt 'em together" and "put them up" - you really do have to take great care on ba...

primarily in response to QBs last post....... I think you're almost right........only the presumptive boot should be on the other foot!........The presumption should be that the government has to prove to US that it's right, and then only in an "advisory" way - or we'd be spending ALL our ...

ok, lets be pedantically specific then - in the question of car seats, SHOULD the advice that it's safer ever be discredited/disproved, you can just stop using the car seat..........if your child has been vaccinated, you can't get it back out, you can't UNvaccinate them! - the Pandora's Box analogy!...

it's that "Pandora's Box" thing again, you can unstrap a child from a car seat, but once that jab's been administered, you can't put it back in the box!

Good for them! I wholeheartedly concur with the "if the US is pushing it, it probably stinks" line, but probably more importantly I'm vehemently against GM crops (and nuclear power), because they are both "Pandora's Box" technologies - once they are "released" into natu...

you're STILL missing the point! "Science" has nothing to do with it, its about principles - we should not have to "prove or disprove" anything to government. Government should realise that freedom of choice is (or should be) sacrosanct! Why do you suppose these scientists ...

Never thankfully come across that - garlic is mentioned as a preventive - if you've had to cull a bird, I'd have a chat with your local vet, conventional or homoeopathic
