Is burning wood much better or worse than burning charcoal?

Perhaps the issue is what you're buying? The 'manufactured' charcoal is nasty stuff compared to proper lumpwood charcoal.

I guess it's a bit late for your course but if you don't have a file or sharpening stone, fine sandpaper wrapped round a bit of wood could be substituted.

Nettles work just as well for self-made liquid fertiliser. Just soak for two weeks or so in water & you get a very smelly solution that the plants love. That's good to know as Nettles are always easy to find! :thumbright: You can make good strong cord out of the stems too - quite a multipurpose...

I hate TVs being left on standy (although I can be bad with other items) so much that none of the remotes in my house will standy by the TV.

Why?

because I've taken them apart and put a small piece of sellotape over the appropriate button. My housemates just think the remotes are broken. :mrgreen:
