Re: Gardening mags anyone ?

I get a few 3rd hand via my MIL sometimes. I liked a copy of kitchen garden I read and yes am particularly appreciative this time of year when I'm fed up of waiting to plant things! Also don't mind the one that's like a newspaper, garden news I think it's called? Though to be honest I think it just ...

Re: Puncture proof tyres

What hubby used was 'Stan's tubeless'. Sounds similar to what other people have mentioned I think, :dontknow: you take the inner tube out, add a liner and put some tyre sealant in. Not uncomfortable at all

Re: Puncture proof tyres

I remember my hubby filled his bike tyres with something last spring, maybe some sort of foam? and this gave him solid tyres which should supposedly never puncture. Can't remember quite what it was :dontknow:

Re: Potatoes in Bins

Aaaah! Well have been lucky enough to be getting a caouple each of a few varieties leftover from a local potato day so am going to give it a go with the grow bags. What do you feed them with/ how often? I mostly just use homemade nettle fertiliser but plus some tomoto feed for fruit and veggies. Wou...

Re: Sugar withdrawal

Yes sugar withdrawal can cause terrible headaches and lethargy. I would agree that cutting down gradually might be a gentler way to go (unless you're trying to deal with candida or something that needs starving of sugar). I think the difficult thing about cutting down gradually is that the idea that...

Re: Potatoes in Bins

Good luck Chuck. I grow in bags as we rent and the landlords don't want us digging up the borders for potatoes but haven't had very big yields but I probably don't water or feed enough (note to self, must try harder) . The size of the bag (for brits) is half a growbag and you use 2 tubers of ...

Re: Tactfuly tell a friend something?

Sorry to hear this, I have similar problems with my mum, mother in law and step mother in law so can sympathise. I think Keith has told us how it is ... Hinting is not a good communication strategy. It requires mind reading, something that most people are not good at. There are two ways forward: kee...
